Pro tip: Order one test transfer at your intended size before committing to a full run, and press it on the same fabric and color you plan to sell. A design that looks right on screen can read completely differently on a dark heather shirt.
Gang Sheets: The Cheapest Route Per Design
This is where cost per print drops fastest for small sellers. A gang sheet is one large sheet of transfer film packed with multiple designs. You pay for the sheet, not the piece count, so filling the space well is what lowers your per-design cost.
The practical rule: the fuller the sheet, the cheaper each print. A sheet that is 70 percent full wastes 30 percent of what you paid for. Rotating a design 90 degrees often fits one or two more pieces, which is free money.

What Your Real Cost Per Print Is
Your cost per print is not the transfer price. It is the transfer plus the blank plus labor and packaging, divided by the units you actually sell.

How to Price Small Runs So They Make Money
Price from your total cost, not from what a competitor charges. Work out the full cost per unit, then apply a markup that leaves room for fees, discounts and the occasional reprint.
- Add transfer cost plus blank cost plus packaging to get your material cost
- Add your labor time at an hourly rate you would accept from a client
- Multiply by 2.5 to 3 for a direct-to-consumer retail price
- Check the result against what your market actually pays, and adjust the design or the blank rather than the margin
Step three is where new sellers underprice. A shirt costing $12 all in and selling for $18 leaves almost nothing after fees and shipping. The same shirt at $30 to $36 is a business rather than a hobby.

Watch out: Do not price a small run using bulk-order economics. If your margin assumed a per-unit cost that only applies at volume, your first ten sales lose money. Price every order at the cost you actually paid for it.
What to Look For in a No-Minimum Supplier
Not every supplier advertising no minimums is equally useful. What matters:
- Genuinely no setup fee. Some suppliers drop the minimum but add a per-order charge that does the same thing.
- Consistent pricing at any quantity. One transfer should cost the same per unit as a hundred.
- Strong white underbase. This is what makes prints opaque on dark garments. Weak underbase is the most common quality failure.
- Published turnaround you can plan around. Vague promises cost you customer deadlines.
- Wash durability you can point to. Ask how transfers were tested, not just whether they are durable.

Ordering: Files, Turnaround and Shipping

Turnaround. Normal production is 4 to 5 business days. Weekends and holidays do not count as production days, and the first business day after you order is day one. Production time does not include shipping.
