What is a UV DTF transfer?
UV DTF stands for ultraviolet direct-to-film. The design is printed onto film with UV-cured ink and finished with an adhesive layer, so it bonds to hard surfaces on contact. Unlike standard DTF transfers, which need heat to fuse into fabric, UV DTF transfers are pure peel-and-stick. That means no heat press, no cure time, and no risk of scorching the item you are decorating.
How to apply a UV DTF transfer
Clean the surface with alcohol and let it dry. Peel the design away from its paper backing. Position it on the item, then rub firmly from the center outward to push out any air. Slowly lift the clear top layer away, and the design stays behind. The whole process takes under a minute per transfer, which is why UV DTF is popular for craft fairs and small-batch gift production.
What surfaces do they work on?
UV DTF transfers bond to stainless steel tumblers, glass cans and jars, ceramic mugs, acrylic, wood, metal signs, candle vessels, ornaments, notebooks, and most smooth rigid surfaces. They are waterproof and scratch resistant once applied, so they hold up on drinkware that gets washed and handled daily. They are not dishwasher-safe on the top rack under high heat, and hand washing will always extend their life.
