What a DTF transfer is, and what it is not
What it is: a DTF (direct to film) transfer is your design printed onto a clear PET film with colored inks over a white ink underbase, then coated with an adhesive powder and cured. You place it on the garment, heat press it, and peel the film away, leaving the design bonded to the fabric. There is no cutting or weeding.
What it is not: it is not heat transfer vinyl, which is cut from colored sheets and weeded by hand. It is not sublimation, which dyes polyester fibers and needs light colored, high polyester garments. And it is not screen printing, which needs a separate screen for each color and usually a minimum order.

DTF Sheet offers a gang sheet builder in sizes from 2 to 20 feet, free shipping on transfers $75 and up, and same-day shipping on qualifying orders. Its homepage shows a 4.7 out of 5 average from 4,128 reviews across Google, Trustpilot and verified buyers.
Best suited to: buyers who order by size and want volume discounts, which start at 15 pieces per size on its site.
Drawbacks: its builder page did not show a price for each sheet size when we checked, and its peel instructions differ between sections of its homepage (hot peel in one place, warm or cold in its FAQ).
5. Lion DTF
Lion DTF lists its 22" x 60" gang sheet at $38.77 and prints on hot peel film. Its homepage advertises 24 hour printing with same day pickup and next day air shipping available.

What should you check first on a DTF transfer?
"First is the adhesive, the white surface of the transfer. It should look and feel like the surface of an orange peel, not too thick and not too thin. Second are the colors: I look for vibrancy, consistency and no banding (ink drop out). Last is the alignment of the white underbase under the color layer."
