Frequently asked questions
What temperature do you press DTF transfers at?
290-310°F for cotton and cotton-poly blends, and 270-285°F for 100% polyester. Polyester runs cooler and is less forgiving, so keep extra blanks on hand when working with a fabric you have not pressed before.
How long do you press a DTF transfer?
10-15 seconds on a heat press, 15-30 seconds on a Cricut Easy Press, or 30-45 seconds per section with a home iron. All three use medium-heavy pressure.
Are DTF transfers hot peel or cold peel?
Ours are hot peel. Peel the carrier film while the transfer is still hot.
Do I need a heat press for DTF transfers?
No. A home iron works if you turn the steam off and press in overlapping sections. A heat press gives more even pressure and steadier heat, which means fewer failures. The handbook covers all three tools.
Why is my DTF transfer peeling after washing?
Usually not enough heat, not enough pressure, not enough time, or uneven contact from seams, collars, pockets or an unlevel platen. The handbook walks through each cause.
What file type should I send for DTF printing?
A high-resolution PNG with a true transparent background, 300 DPI at the size you intend to print. A JPG always carries a background, and that background will print.
How do I get the file after I buy?

Can I print it?
Yes. It is formatted for standard letter paper, portrait, so it prints at home without cropping.
