We Print U Press offers an online tool, Auto Gang Sheet Builder to help you create your own gang sheets for DTF transfers. This tool allows you to arrange multiple images on a single sheet for printing, saving you money and time. Let's explore how to use our tool, what sizes are available, and how to make sure your final print is top-notch.

What is a DTF Gang Sheet?

A DTF (Direct to Film) transfer is a way to print designs onto fabric using a special film. A "gang sheet" is a single sheet that has multiple images or designs on it. Instead of ordering one design at a time, you can use a gang sheet to order many designs at once. This is great for large orders, or if you have a lot of different designs you want to print.

Using the We Print U Press Gang Sheet Builder

We Print U Press has an online gang sheet builder that is easy to use. we offer both an automatic gang sheet builder, and an option to upload a finished gang sheet. Here are some general steps for using our tools:

  1. Choose Your Builder: You can choose to use the Automatic Gang Sheet Builder, or you can upload a file that you have already arranged.  No need to select the length, this will automatically adjust depending on the quantity and size of transfers uploaded.

  2. Upload Your Images: You can upload your own designs to the gang sheet builder. Make sure your images are high-resolution for the best results.

  3. Arrange Your Images: If you use the automatic builder, it will arrange the images for you. You can also manually arrange your images if you upload a pre-made gang sheet. Try to get the images as close together as possible without overlapping, in order to save space and money.  If you want more control over arranging how your designs are spaced on the gang sheet, you can use our manual builder here.

  4. Check for Issues: The automatic builder will notify you if more sheets are needed, and confirm that everything is placed correctly.

  5. Place Your Order: Once you're happy with your layout, you can order your gang sheet.

Gang Sheet Sizes

We Print U Press offers gang sheets in a variety of sizes. The printable width on all gang sheets is 22” wide.  Our pricing is discounted as your length grows.  Our smallest gang sheet is 24 inches long, then 48 inches long, 96 inches long and 120 inches long.  Our auto builder will adjust your length as your designs are entered and sized.

Important Considerations for a Good Print

  • File Type: Our gang sheet builder accepts PNG and SVG files.  Art should be at least 300 DPI at the transfer size needed. Other vector formats should be uploaded as completed gang sheets.

  • Resolution: Images should be at least 300 DPI for best results. If you try to resize a low-resolution image, it might look blurry when it's printed.

  • Print Ready: Make sure that your images are the size you want and that you have arranged them on the gang sheet exactly how you want them.  Be sure to remove any transparent space around the perimeter of your design, otherwise your image on the transfer may be smaller than what you intended.

  • Mirroring: Do not mirror your images, because the printing process does that automatically.

  • Cutting: Keep in mind that you will have to cut out your individual images from the gang sheet, so you want to make sure that the designs are not so close together that you have trouble cutting them apart.

Additional Tips for best results on Custom Gang Sheets

  • Pressing: For best results, DTF transfers should be pressed with a heat press at a specific temperature, pressure, and time. We Print U Press has a How to Press DTF Transfers guide available on our website.

  • Peeling: Allow the transfers to cool completely before peeling the film away.

  • Final Press: A final press after peeling is recommended to make the design more durable. You can use parchment paper, Teflon sheet or our T Seal to cover and protect your design for this final press.

  • Washing: To make your DTF transfers last, it's recommended to wash the garment inside out in cold water and dry on low heat or hang to dry.
