So let’s break down some of the components that will affect your t-shirt selling prices.
Understanding Custom T-Shirt Pricing
Custom t-shirt pricing can be complex, with various factors affecting the final cost. Understanding these factors can help you make informed decisions when ordering custom t-shirts. Whether you’re looking to create custom t-shirts for a special event, a business, or a sports team, knowing what influences the price can save you money and ensure you get the best value for your investment.
Factors Affecting Custom T-Shirt Cost
The cost of custom t-shirts depends on several factors, including:
-
Quantity: The number of t-shirts you order significantly affects the price per unit. Larger orders typically result in lower costs per shirt due to bulk discounts. For instance, ordering 100 shirts will generally be more cost-effective per unit than ordering just 10.
-
Type of Shirt: Different types of shirts, such as cotton, polyester, or blends, vary in price. Premium materials like organic cotton or athletic heather blends may cost more but offer superior comfort and durability.
-
Printing Method: If you are just getting started, we recommend using DTF prints or transfers. These heat transfers are are fast and easy to use and easy to calculate pricing. You don't have to worry about screen charges, film charges or run charges. This digital print process makes t shirt printing fast and easy! Artwork can be full color, vibrant designs with small details.
-
Print Locations: Printing on multiple locations, such as the front and back of the shirt, increases the cost. Each additional print location requires more transfers and time, so consider limiting the number of print areas to stay within budget and keep shirts affordable.
-
Turnaround Time: Rush orders or expedited shipping can add to the overall cost. Planning your production time in advance can help you avoid save money and keep your project within budget. If your customer didn't allow proper time for their project, be sure to factor in rush fees and expedited shipping charges.
By understanding these factors, you can better plan your custom t-shirt orders and make cost-effective decisions that meet your needs and budget.
Your T-Shirt Brand Quality
Another consideration of your custom t-shirt pricing is the quality of the shirts you are selling, and the quality you are portraying to your customers.
If you are using the cheapest t-shirt you can get, you don't want to charge a premium price for the finished shirt.
On the other hand, if your brand uses premium apparel and that's what your customer is expecting, then don't under charge for it either. If you are selling a premium product, you need to charge premium pricing.
So take your brand's perception into your pricing strategy. At the end of the day, your price will communicate what your product is worth and what your customers perceive them to be worth.
