DTF Transfers: Everything You Need to Know
Learn how DTF prints are transforming custom apparel with vibrant, durable designs for any fabric or material.
What Are DTF Transfers?
DTF (Direct-to-Film) transfers are a groundbreaking printing method that enables designs to be printed onto specialized PET film and heat-pressed onto fabric or other materials. DTF prints create detailed, vibrant designs on items such as:
- T-shirts
- Hoodies
- Jerseys
- Tote bags
- Masks
- Backpacks
DTF transfers work on a wide range of fabrics, including cotton, polyester, silk, linen, and leather, offering unmatched versatility.
Advantages of DTF Transfers
DTF prints stand out for their numerous benefits:
- Vivid Detail: Specialized inks produce sharp, high-resolution designs.
- Durable: Rubberized inks ensure designs last through 50+ washes.
- Versatile: Compatible with nearly all fabric types, unlike sublimation.
- Cost-Effective: Lower long-term costs and scalable production for any order size.
Disadvantages of DTF Transfers
While highly effective, DTF transfers have some limitations:
- Color Constraints: DTF printers use the CMYK color model, which may limit certain color choices.
- Texture Changes: Large designs may feel stiffer, affecting the fabric’s natural drape.
